In the Fall of 2022, a couple of friends visited a small, volunteer-run thrift store in Eureka, IL called The Et Cetera Shop. They imagined the impact a resale store like this could have here in Sandwich. They took this idea to our church board, and in March of 2023, the leadership of Sandwich Church of the Nazarene voted unanimously to start and operate a community-focused thrift store in our building. The vision for this ministry matched the needs of the congregation perfectly, and they felt God was giving them a brand-new adventure. A group of five volunteers, along with the pastor, began to plan and prepare for an October 2023 launch. We’ve been amazed at how many people have caught the vision and have pitched in to make this dream a reality.
